Q1. I don’t have a climbing partner – can I still come on a course?

Yes, on most courses you don’t need a partner to attend. Once you’re a member you may meet a new climbing partner through our New Climbers Club.

Q2. Can I come and climb solo?

We do not have auto-belay devices so the only form of solo climbing permitted is bouldering.

Q3. Do you have bouldering only membership?

No. We only have one category of membership which includes all aspects of indoor climbing, including roped climbing.

Q4. I’ve never tried climbing before – can I just come down or do I have to book?

If you’re a novice, you will need to book a session with an instructor. Initially we would recommend a Taster Session followed by a Beginner’s Course if you wish to continue with the sport.

Q5. I’ve climbed elsewhere, can I join your centre?

Yes, if you are a suitably experienced climber and agree to accept both our conditions of use and the BMC participation statement.

Q6. I’m a member, can I sign in a guest?

Yes, adult members can sign in up to two guests each time they come climbing. The member is fully responsible for the guest whilst they’re in the centre. Guests are not permitted to belay unless the member is directly supervising them.
